Daizen von Sigh

Description:
Bio:

Daizen has no memories from his early childhood. The first thing Daizen remembers is seeing a monk’s hand stretch out open towards him saying, “This is your new home.”
Daizen was brought up by monks in a monastery that was sitting on the very top of a mountain in the centre of a fishing island. Even though he’d lived there from a young age and the monks had became his family, he never quite fit in. But there was one monk in particular that took a shining to him, Monk Kazuto.
The monks believed in honing the body and mind and focusing inward to find inner peace as well as inner power.
Years later when Daizen was in the town collecting supplies, he noticed that there was a strange black ship in the harbour. Thinking it unusual and having a vague feeling that he’d seen the ship before he ran back up the mountain to the monastery. When he arrived back and opened the front doors he found some of the monks hunched and lifeless over flipped and broken pews. Next thing he knew, he was surrounded by armed assailants in black hooded robes. Before they could attack Monk Kazuto intervened, pushing Daizen behind him.
During the fight Daizen was shot with a blast – that he now knows to be an eldritch blast – and was sent flying backward crashing into the altar. Daizen found himself in complete darkness with the only thing visible being a giant black boulder with glowing blue inscriptions on it. He was drawn to it and placed his hand onto the stone. When he touched it the boulder cracked and split apart leaving a black blade with blue writings on the hilt. As soon as he grabbed it he was transported back to the monastery and in the hand that had been holding the blade, he was now holding the throat of one of the hooded men. The last words the man muttered before dying were “You should not exist.”

After searching for survivors and finding none, Daizen gathered his few belongings along with what he found on the bodies of the hooded men and went down to the port, only to find the Black Ship gone. For many months Daizen travelled from port to port in search for answers. In search for vengeance. In search for who he is.
